Ah, the character eats their brains through the skull base. While she can gain memories, work experience and personality traits of her victims along with the physical form outside of the ritual feeding that she does for a "permanent" shapeshift (since that's what nourishes her kind), and usually keep some major of those things from previous victims/"permanent" shifts, she can't gain super powers or magic or special abilities from those brains.
