I'm kind of waffling about bringing in a familiar with my character and I was wondering if you could help me out!

Kuro is a cait-sidhe/bakeneko, and near constant companion to Rin here. He understands human language, and Rin can hear his thoughts. So, technically, he has his own backstory and personality. However, that personality is mostly "a smart cat that sometimes gets drunk". He's not the most complicated character to say the least, but he has some autonomy. I have also never seen him played as a separate character. I was just curious as to your thoughts on this sort of thing, and if you guys have a preference one way or another.
